The forging machinery industry needs to change its extensive development model

In traditional concepts, the forging machinery industry is characterized by extensive equipment. Despite increasing technological content and continuously improving technological levels in response to the current situation of the forging machinery industry, it is still difficult to change the extensive development model.

The forging machinery industry began to take off in the 1950s and achieved self-sufficiency in major forging machinery in the 1970s and 1980s. With high-quality and affordable products, it has gained an increasing share in the world market, with 80% of forging machine tools exported annually.

The casting and forging machinery industry in our country still has a long-standing situation where the specifications and varieties are basically complete, but there is an excess of mid to low end products and a lack of high-end products. It can be proven from the import and export data of forging machinery in China that imports are 3.3 times more than exports, and imported CNC forging machines are 1.78 times more than all exports. The import and export comparison of casting machinery is also similar. This reflects a significant increase in demand for mid to high end products in the market, as well as the obvious shortcomings of domestic mid to high end products in terms of technological level and output value, which cannot meet user needs in terms of product quality, technical indicators, and user services.
