Stamping die is a special process equipment used in cold stamping processing to process materials into parts (or semi-finished products), called cold stamping die (commonly known as cold stamping die). There are many forms of stamping molds, classified according to the nature of the work, mold structure, and mold materials.
Classification based on the nature of the process
a. Punching die: A mold that separates materials along closed or open contour lines. Such as material dropping die, punching die, cutting die, cutting die, edge cutting die, cutting die, etc.
b. Bending die: A mold that causes a blank or other blank to bend and deform along a straight line (bending curve), thereby obtaining a workpiece with a certain angle and shape.
c. Deep drawing die: It is a mold that makes blank sheet metal into open hollow parts, or further changes the shape and size of the hollow parts.
d. Forming mold: It is a mold that directly replicates the shape of a blank or semi-finished workpiece into a convex or concave mold according to the drawing, while the material itself only undergoes local plastic deformation. Such as bulging die, shrinking die, expanding die, undulating forming die, flanging die, shaping die, etc.
e. Riveting die: It is a method of using external force to connect or overlap the participating parts in a certain order and manner, thereby forming a whole
Classification based on the degree of process combination
a. Single process mold: A mold that completes only one stamping process in one stroke of a press.
b. Composite mold: A mold with only one workstation that completes two or more stamping processes simultaneously at the same workstation during one stroke of the press.
c. Progressive die (also known as continuous die): A die with two or more workstations in the direction of raw material feeding, which sequentially completes two or more stamping processes at different workstations in one stroke of the press.
d. Transfer mold: Combining the characteristics of single process molds and progressive molds, using a robotic arm transfer system to achieve rapid transfer of products within the mold can greatly improve production efficiency, reduce production costs, save material costs, and ensure stable and reliable quality.
Classified by the processing method of the product
a. Punching and cutting die: It is a type of die that works by cutting, and commonly used forms include cutting die, cutting die, punching die, trimming die, trimming die, punching die, punching die, and punching die.
b. Bending die: It is a type of die that bends flat hair into an angular shape. Depending on the shape, accuracy, and production volume of the part, there are various forms of dies, such as ordinary bending dies, cam bending dies, curling dies, arc bending dies, bending punching dies, and twisting dies.
c. Drawing mold: Drawing mold is to make a seamless container with a bottom from a flat blank.
d. Forming die: refers to the use of various local deformation methods to change the shape of the blank, including convex stretching forming die, rolling edge forming die, necking forming die, hole flange forming die, and circular edge forming die.
e. Compression mold: It uses strong pressure to make the metal blank flow and deform into the desired shape. There are various types of molds, including extrusion die, embossing die, embossing die, and end pressing die.
