Analysis of the Upgrading Strategy of Domestic Mold Industry during the 12th Five Year Plan Period

In recent years, due to the strengthening of the national economy, the scale of mold manufacturing in China has been gradually increasing. As of now, there are over 30000 enterprises engaged in mold manufacturing, with an annual industrial value approaching 200 billion yuan. It is not difficult to see the strong development momentum of domestic molds with such a huge amount of data. In today's increasingly prosperous industrial development, there is undoubtedly a vast market and enormous development prospects. 

The 12th Five Year Plan for the mold industry clearly stated that it will develop towards green and intelligent direction in the future. From the current perspective, the development of domestic molds is still mixed. Furthermore, the manufacturing technology of the domestic mold industry is still lagging behind, so more manpower and material resources are needed to catch up with developed countries. This means that China's mold industry will face huge challenges while welcoming a new round of development opportunities. Mold experts say that in order for the domestic mold industry to upgrade perfectly during the 12th Five Year Plan period, in addition to identifying the existing industry's development criticisms, it is also necessary to start with the most basic concept transformation and accept the change in production concepts from an ideological perspective. The country should also introduce relevant support policies, and do a good job in policy promotion, interpretation, and implementation, encouraging mold enterprises to eliminate old equipment, purchase new CNC equipment, and accelerate the informatization and intelligence of manufacturing technology to increase confidence in the upgrading of the mold industry. Mold experts believe that although the development prospects are bright, the gradual shift of mold manufacturing industry from developed countries to domestic markets will invisibly increase market competition. 

Industrial upgrading will be the primary task and goal for the development of the mold industry during the 12th Five Year Plan period. If the mold industry wants to thrive during the 12th Five Year Plan period, it must solve many problems existing in the current development. Mold enterprises should fundamentally change their management methods, instead of expanding a single sales channel, they should follow the trend of the times and actively join hands with the Internet.   Starting from the foundation, we need to deeply understand the root causes of these problems and focus on removing them, in order to promote the industrial upgrading of China's mold industry towards large-scale, precision, complexity, efficiency, longevity, and multifunctionality, and steadily advance in a favorable market environment. 

Mold experts point out that although domestic mold exports have continued to increase in recent years, the level of international competitiveness has also improved. But most of them are concentrated in the middle and low-end fields, with low technical level and added value of molds. Some high-precision molds still rely on imports, so the domestic mold manufacturing industry needs to strengthen integration in various fields. In the process of research, it is possible to conduct forward-looking research based on the accumulated experience of developed countries, without burying oneself in repeating technical work that others have already done, which may lead to the waste of talent and resources. There is no need for excessive competition. In terms of technological development, division of labor and cooperation should be implemented. Relevant industries and enterprises should look far ahead, put in their hearts, and focus on the research of new technologies and processes. Gradually, a scientific research and development pattern with division of labor, cooperation, multiple fields, and all-round development should be formed, and mold products with independent intellectual property rights should be developed.
